Title: Slack 5004 (Both pictures)
Pictures were taken with 2 months fleece. Rams were washed but not blocked.
We purchased this ram (above pictures) from Tom Slack in the fall of 2005. He has what the Dorset show sheep are lacking today, extreme muscling through the loin, hindquarters, and down low into the legs. He tests RR on codon 171. His ears are short and his head exhibits true Dorset breed character. He does not have wrinkles on the neck. He is correct and strong in his bone structure. We are very happy with his offspring. We recently learned that his half sister won champion ewe at Sedalia. His sire is Martin 057, and on the dam's side his blood goes back to Dogwood Hills 332 and Meinika Farms 6 Meatmaster II. This ram is one of the most aggressive breeding rams we have seen on the farm. When wearing a marking harness, there is no doubt that he has bred a ewe. So far, he has been good natured with people and easy to work with. We are taking orders for his stud rams.

This is a different kind of ram (Photo to your left), as you can see. He has exceptional width and depth of loin, and good muscling in the hind quarters. His sire was Tattykeel 80-97, champion of the Sydney, Australia fair. This ram was purchased from Kim Burkhart of Rockford, Illinois, a commercial sheep producer. Originally, he came from Belmeade Acres in Canada. We are using him for a brood ewe sire. We have not used him extensively yet, but the lambs he has had show great muscling.

This ram (Photo to your left) came from Erick Schmidt of Haven, Kansas. We tracked him down while looking for the Tom Carson flock. He has true Dorset breed character with exceptional length of loin for a smaller Dorset ram. He is somewhat smaller bodied as he is somewhat line bred, however, his offspring are of good size. We have quite a few young ewes sired from him.
